In the Ming Dynasty, dBus-gTsang and mDo-Khams Commander Offices were established in dBusgTsang regions. In 1375(the eighth year of Hongwu), an edict was issued to establish mNgav-risMilitary and Civil Office.Since then, the whole Tibetan-inhabited areas were basically under the administration of the Ming Central Government.
The Ming Central Government conferred titles upon many leaders of various religious sects and had them jointly participate in the affairs of governing Tibet. In the Ming Dynasty, three famous Princes of Dharma and five Princes were conferred in Tibetan inhabited areas. The Ming Central Government conferred the title of"rDorje-vchang"upon the Third Dalai Lama.
In addition to partial adjustment, the Ming Central Government basically followed the policies implemented by the Yuan Central Government.It was the implementation of this policy that promoted the prosperity and development of feudal serf economy of Tibet.
