In modern times, Tibetan culture which is seldom understood by other ethnic and country's people is widely publicized by movie, CD, Internet and some other modern media.
Folk songs and dances in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province is famous for its rich and colorful tunes and poses. "Tibetan music for songs and dances is the main carrier for the spread of Tibetan culture," said by Ngangnga, vice-chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province.
In 1988, the first music CD "smart Khampa" was published in Yushu and over 50 CDs have been published by now which made distinct Tibetan music sound in every corner of the world.
In recent years, movie plays an important role in the publicity of Tibetan culture. The marvellous scene of Tibetan film "Ashes of Time" remains fresh in many people's memory. "The Silent Holy Stones" directed by a Tibetan director, Wanma Caidan attracted many audiences from home and abroad and awarded as the Best First Film of Director in 2005 China Golden Rooster Awards.
Meanwhile, Internet imputs new energy on the development of Tibetan culture. Garma Tenzin, a 28-year old Tibetan youngman said that he always surfed on the Tibet-related webs to understand modern Tibet.
"I can understand the development of Tibetan culture and communicate with friends through these webs which is good for the publicity of Tibetan culture," said by Tenzin.
"Those modern media make more and more people to understand Tibetan culture and some of them even come to Tibet to research its mystery without care of the long distance," said by the former director of the Culture Bureau of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.
