1,000 square meters, nearly half of fresco maintenance work in Sakya Monastery has been finished.

2,100 square meters fresco facing wrinkle and bubble problems has been brought into the maintenance project, according to Duan Xiuye who is in charge of the maintenance work of Sakya Monastery.

Sakya Monastery is famous for its long history, large quantity of precious cultural relics and unique architecture style.

The Tibet three major culture relics (Potala Palace, Norbu Lingka, Sakya Monastery) maintenance project started in 2002 with overall 330 million yuan (43.3 million USD), all the projects are undertaken smoothly at present.
