Potala Palace will sell 2,600 tickets every day to meet tourists' demand during the National-day golden week, sources from Potala Palace Administration Center.
In order to protect the under-renovation Potala Palace, Tibet strictly restrict the visitor number of Potala Palace from 2003 and only 2,300 visitors allowed per day to enter into, including 1,600 group tickets and 700 personal tickets. In the peak season, such as the National-day holiday, its ticket number can increase to 2,600 every day.
The process of ticket booking is as follows: tourist should take the "ticket booking voucher" with ID card in the Potala Palace Administration Center one day before and exchange tickets in the tickets station the next day.
