Paris zooms in on Tibet through noted photographers

The serene and mysterious Tibet has been captured through the lenses of 50 noted photographers. The exhibitions went on display in Paris. Tibet Through the Eyes of World Famous Photographers takes visitors to the region in different phases and through various perspectives.

Over 100 photos take viewers through a panorama of Tibet: politics, economics, culture, society and the lives of ordinary people. The photographers come from 19 countries and regions. Many spoke of the hospitality of the Tibetan people and magnificent views they captured on film.

Chinese officials heartily concurred, calling the exhibition just a preface to a book on Tibet. They welcomed more international friends to visit, investigate and research Tibet as a whole.

Also on display are 13 Tangkas which offer a glimpse into Tibetan religion, medicine and the history of Tibetan people.

The photo exhibition comes on the heels of the mammoth cultural exchange, the China Year in France. It's jointly organized by the China Cultural Exchange Association and the Chinese Embassy in France.
