Winner of Nightingale Medal, Pasang Dondrup

 

Pasang Dondrup, the deputy director of People's Hospital in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan province, is the first male nurse who gains Nightingale Medal as well as the first Tibetan gainer of Nightingale Medal.

As the only male nurse in People's Hospital of Ganzi, Pasang Dondrup becomes a hospital member who serves for longest time and he has covered all the 18 counties in Ganzi.

In the winter of 1985, there appeared an unusual snow disaster in Ganzi. Pasang threw himself in the curing of farmers and herders in the remotest village.

Pasang Dondrup tried his best and as a 52-year-old male nurse, he is highly praised by the Tibetan people and the society.
