On the occasion of 50th anniversary of the operation of Qinghai-Tibet Highway. Reporters interviewed some soldiers.
In 50 years, the plateau solders for several generations worked under the toughest condition along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway. They worked with Tibetan Sationed people and spared no efforts to build and maintain Qinghai-Tibet Highway which plays an important role in Tibet economic development, social stability and consolidation of southwest defense. It is a link connecting Tibet and southwestern provinces and regions and also the economic pulse of East Tibet Sichuan-Tibet highway is built by winding the mountain and it is really bumpy.

This important road has engendered a lot of vivid and touch stories of the plateau soldiers. One soldier told the reporter his "marriage journey". He wrote letters to his girlfriend whom he had not see for one year. He had a good feeling towards her, so he went back home to see her. Then they began to arrange for wedding ceremony. 10 days after getting married, his army official cabled him to go back...A lot of soldiers left home just after wedding ceremony, then when they came back home, they discovered that they had become their children's dads.
　
During these 50 years of Qinghai-Tibet and Sichuan-Tibet operation, there are 740 soldiers who had sacrificed their lives to the cause of road construction. They are Chinese people's heros. What they did will always be remembered by the people and by the nation.
